Research laboratories at universities, institutes and colleges represent a critical source of discoveries with high commercial potential. An invention is the first step in the innovation process with the ultimate goal of commercialization. Successfully transferring new ideas into the marketplace requires a solid understanding of the key challenges, business expertise and a strong relationship between industry and academia.
