SSHRC Insight Development Grants Webinars

SSHRC will be holding four webinars (English and French) on the upcoming Insight Development Grants 2017 for applicants and administrators: one general session and one focused on research-creation. There is no need to register in advance.

All of the webinars will be held via Adobe Connect (for the visual presentation and written questions only. No audio.) and teleconference (for the audio) on the following dates:

CIHR Foundation Grant: 2016 Stage 1 and Project Grant 2016 Fall Applications Webinars

The Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) is holding a series of Question & Answer webinars on the Foundation Grant: 2016 stage 1 application and the Project Grant Fall 2016 application starting the end of September 2016. These webinars allow both applicants and research administrators the opportunity to ask any outstanding questions they may have about the stage 1 application and a Project Grant application. In advance of the webinar, participants are invited to consult the Foundation Grant Program and Project Grant Fall 2016 web pages, which include updated supporting material and resources to help applicants successfully complete the applications.

The 2016-17 Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs (OMAFRA) Food Safety Research Program currently has an open call for Letters of Intent.

Submission deadline: Wed, June 29th, 2016 (11:59am EST)

Research Priority Areas:

  • Economic analysis
  • Detection and surveillance
  • Prevention and control of disease

Who May Apply:

Public and private sector applicants with capacity to perform quality research in the program priority areas are invited to apply.

How to Apply

  • Researchers apply using the online Research Management System (RMS) *Note: Brescia has an established research administration account with RMS, managed by the Research Officer. Applicants must create their own RMS accounts as well. Click here for registration and information on RMS
  • If you already have an RMS username and password, login to your Researcher Workbench to access the Call documents and application form.

Pre-submission Consultation

A pre-submission consultation is scheduled for:

  • Date: Thursday, June 9th 2016
  • Time: 9:30-11:30am

2016 Project Scheme (Live Pilot) Application Webinars

CIHR is holding a series of webinars on the Project Scheme: 2016 1st Live Pilot application process starting mid-January 2016. These webinars are intended for both applicants and research administrators and afford participants the opportunity to pose any outstanding questions they may have about the application process.

Webinars in English and French will be available as per the dates listed below. To register, click the link of the online session you wish to register for. Please note that upon registering, you will receive an email confirming your registration which will include all information required to join the webinar, including a direct link to the session and session password.

In advance of the webinar, please ensure that:

  1. You have access to a computer with speakers. It is essential that you have access to speakers in order to hear the presenters. A chat application will be made available to all attendees during the session, allowing you to provide written input and/or questions.
  2. Java is installed on your computer, as this software is required to run WebEx.
  3. You have reviewed the information in the supporting materials listed above.

Use the Cisco WebEx web site to test your computer for the minimum requirements (browser) in advance of the webinar.

If you experience technical difficulties with the WebEx technology, please view this short tutorial on You Tube that has been developed to help you troubleshoot issues you may have encountered.

+ ERA-Can+ & EURAXESS Webinar

The Canadian partners to ERA-Can+ invite European and Canadian researchers to participate in a live webinar, which will focus on the opportunities to collaborate in EURAXESS programs. EURAXESS – Researchers in Motion is a unique pan-European initiative providing access to a complete range of information and support services to researchers wishing to pursue their research careers in Europe or stay connected to it.

Canada’s Public Policy Forum and Universities Canada will host a webinar to introduce the ERA-Can+ project and Horizon 2020-the European Union’s current Framework Programme for Research and Innovation. The second part of the webinar will feature EURAXESS and explore its research opportunities open to Europeans and Canadians.
